We're Hiring: Full-Time Social Media Assistant (Remote)

Company: Shark Life Media

Location: 100% Remote (EST hours)

Hours: Full-time, 40 hours/week. You will start at part time for 2 weeks of training.

Timezone: WET for training, EST for execution.

Reports to: Mia (Founder, CEO)

Who We Are

Shark Life Media is a marketing education company built for one audience: home service business owners. We're talking HVAC techs, plumbers, electricians, and roofers who are incredible at their trade but have been burned by agencies that took their money and delivered nothing.

Our founder, Mia Shark, wrote the book on this (literally, it's called "Just Make The Phone Ring"). Our team has helped generate over $63 million in revenue for home service businesses. We don't do the marketing for them. We teach them how to do it themselves, and we give them the tools to make it happen.

We're a small team. That means you won't be a cog in a machine. You'll have real ownership, real impact, and direct access to leadership.

What This Role Actually Looks Like

Let's skip the corporate job description fluff and tell you what your days will look like:

Daily:

Drop the pinned lead comment on every new YouTube video within 5 minutes of publish

Leave 3 high-value comments on Dream 100 YouTube channels (Roger Wakefield, HVAC School, Tommy Mello, Electrician U, The Contractor Fight, and more)

Run Instagram Follow/Unfollow with our Dream 100 accounts

Send personalized welcome DMs to every new Instagram follower within 24 hours

Engage with the most recent 48 hours of Instagram posts to keep the algorithm warm

Send "Invite Bomb" group invites to every new commenter and reactor on Mia's Page and personal profile

Review Facebook Memories on Mia's account and adjust visibility settings

Optimize 1-2 existing YouTube titles per day using VidIQ data

Every Other Day (Tuesday and Thursday):

Source US-viral videos worth adapting and drop them in our #Viral Slack channel for the team

Weekly:

Write the Monday "New Member Win" feature post in the Facebook Group and pin it

Monitor and log Dream 100 Facebook activity in our CRM

Post Instagram Story polls Tuesday and Thursday

Pull Friday Facebook follower and friend count growth numbers

Add end screens to new YouTube videos

Activate the Launch Squad for carousel posts

Monthly:

Schedule the entire next month's content across Facebook (Group, Personal, Page), Instagram, and coordinate uploads with Everen on YouTube

Review and update YouTube playlists for SEO

Run the monthly performance audit (pull data, identify top and bottom posts, log community pain points for the topic bank)

What We're Looking For

Must-Haves:

- 1-2+ years managing social media for a real business (not just personal accounts)

- Strong written English; comments and DMs that sound human, not like AI on autopilot

- Experience with Facebook (Groups, Pages, profiles), Instagram, and YouTube as a power user, not just a casual scroller

- Comfortable with scheduling tools (Meta Business Suite specifically)

- Self-motivated; you don't need someone checking on you every hour

- Reliable internet and a quiet workspace

- Google Chrome browser (not Safari, not Firefox, not the desktop app)

- Available to overlap with US Eastern Time

- Real attention to detail; many of our SOPs include "never skip this exact step" rules and we mean them

Big Pluses:

- Experience with Asana, Slack, Clockify, GoHighLevel, VidIQ, or Canva

- Familiarity with home services, trades, or blue-collar industries

- Experience working with AI writing tools (you'll be using Claude)

- YouTube SEO knowledge

What Makes This Different

- Real SOPs and systems for every task. We don't hand you logins and say "figure it out."

- Direct access to Alex and Mia, not five layers of management.

- AI tools (Claude) that make content creation faster. You're not writing everything from scratch.

- We actually care about the people we serve. The work matters.

What This Role Is NOT

- Not a "post and ghost" role. Engagement is half the job.

- Not a graphic design role. Creative Officer handles video and heavy design.

- Not a strategy role (yet). You'll execute the plan Alex and Mia set.

- Not a copy-paste role. Every Instagram DM, every YouTube comment, every Facebook reply is customized. We can tell when you copy-paste, and so can the people receiving it.

Compensation

We'll discuss rates during the interview based on your experience. This is a contracted part-time position (20-25 hours/week) with a 30-day trial period. We pay reliably and on time, every time. We'll NEVER ask you to pay for training, or to pay period - that's our job. Starting salary is $3.50 an hour.
